-SETTING-
As the arena flickers to life, there is a blinding flash of white that turns out to be a snow-covered hill. Around you are a few scattered evergreen trees and the occasional shrub, but besides that there is no sign of life. Huge flakes of snow drift to the earth before your eyes.
This particular arena is cluttered with hills, though none of them are particularly tall or steep. To the west is a forest of evergreens and a few dead trees, and the ground is covered in thick brush here. Towards the north east is a small lake, most of which is covered in a layer of ice. Every now and then a spire of rock juts out of the ground like some ancient obelisk, and it wouldn't be hard to impale someone on one of them. However, given the overall dull nature of the arena and the height of many of the spires, this looks like it's going to be a battle of brawn rather than brains.
Night has fallen here, if not in the real world. Above you the sky is painted with the lights of a breathtaking aurora which lights the arena as good as any full moon. There are no stars to be seen.

The Zorua/Honedge symbiote appeared first in the icy arena, opening his eyes and adjusting to the new set of sensations flooding their perception all at once. it appeared they were as yet alone, but that may soon change; best to prepare in this lull before the upcoming storm. finding an appropriately defensible position from which he could see most approaching threats before they found him, the tricky illusion fox dug a quick hollow to shelter himself from the light breeze and sat, shivering, preparing for battle with his Hone Claws ability. this was going to be a long, chilly night if there wasn't a fire type participating, and the little dark fox hated being cold. best he kept his blood hot with something to do, and so he waited for the war to begin...

A Bisharp was next to enter the arena. Shaking his head to clear it from the odd feeling and the bright light the snow gave from the reflection of the artificial sun. Once his eyes were focused, he looked around. A barring tundra with, what he thought, was no sign of life. For now anyway. The cold air touched his metal body, but thanks to it, it didn't bother him much. Ice was something he could handle, so cold air had little bother to him. The only disadvantage he had right now was that he stuck out like a sore thumb. Being red and black, standing in a bright white environment offered little to no camouflage if he stood I the open. He needed to find cover, of any kind, to hide himself. Maybe within the trees? Could offer a sight advantage being up top from the ground. Or maybe in the shrubs? No, that would offer little sight for him. Tress it is. As quickly as he could he moved and climbed the tree. He thought he was alone, so he felt like the advantage could offer him an edge. Once settled in the branches he scanned the area. So far, he saw nothing. Course, that didn't nothing was out there. Hell, something could be looking at him right now, and he wouldn't know it. Whatever. he just wanted to get this over with. The sooner this was over, the better. He adjusted his seating, trying make himself comfortable. Waiting for the opportunity to strike.

A Vulpix entered third. Her inner fire kept her warm some, but the sun from her Drought ability was what really kept her from the freezing temperatures. Looking around, the area seemed still barren, this match wasn't too crowded yet. Good; the multitailed fox was good at these, but she didn't really care for fighting much. The only reason she still did these brutal matches was so that she could keep in shape and so that she could continue to figure out better ways to incapacitate those who would hurt her. Hiding was impossible with this empowered sun following her, so she stood battle ready, prepared for anyone who would home in on her following the light. Expanding her senses of scent and hearing and closing her eyes, just as she was taught, she formed a sphere of awareness. No one was going to sneak up on her!

The artificial sun did not go unnoticed by the young symbiote. bored of waiting he decided it would be best to investigate in order to find some action and to avoid self-madness. Looking in its direction, he realized that it must be someone with Drought. Taking caution not to rush in unprepared, the Zorua prepared himself with an Agility and then a Swords Dance, drawing his Honedge partner in the process. Creeping through the brush, he noticed it was a Vulpix that had this ability. Perhaps she would be better as an ally... Best to see if she is even strong enough before that is decided... He leaped through the air, Night Slash ready.... And the blade fell...

A disturbance in the air behind her and to her right alerted the Vulpix to an incoming attack. Rolling to the left, she looked at her assailant to find it was a Zorua wielding a blade... Wait no; it appeared to be a Honedge's blade. A ribbon drifting from the scabbard on the fox's back indicated such. He didn't look like he wanted to hurt her simply to give her a good fight. Who was she to decline? Taking the flames from within her body, she focused it into a small projectile and fired off a flurry of them; her special way of using Flame Burst known as Flame Bullet. 'Let's see how he dealt with this!' she thinks to herself...

Jun could here the sounds of a battle starting. Looking around from his little hiding spot within the trees. Not being able to see much, he moved. Using his speed and agility, he quickly moved from tree to tree, searching for the battle. 'So soon... This may be interesting after all..' he thought as he was moving. The cold air whispering in his ears as he moved. The cold nibbling at him. He ignored it all. Once at a good location within a shrub this time, he could see the two contenders. One was actually a pair of a Honedge and Zorua. Interesting. Two pokemon working as one. And their opponent? A Vulpix, who was able to hold its own. Jun's chest tightened. Fire was a natural weakness for him, and due to that, he had a fear of Fire type pokemon. The Zorua and Honedge he didn't care about, but the Vulpix worried him. He chose to stay out of this fight, and would wait for the end of the fight to finish of the victor. Cold and cowardly probably, but tactical none the less. He prayed that the Vulpix would be defeated. Didn't want to face his fears just yet.

SOULDANCE
The cold wasn't as bad as he remembered; it had been a while since Souldance had been in a frosty environment such as this, much less voluntarily. Still, had he known that this would be the arena environment, he wouldn't have volunteered in the first place. Rigby certainly had; sometimes he wondered if they'd mixed something up and altered her typing rather than his. She seemed to have a much better time at predicting things than he did.
He shook the snow out of his fur and immediately scrambled to the nearest tree, causing it to lean as he lunged up into the branches. Flimsy, but a nice viewpoint; he was by no means a silent flier. So far the arena was fairly empty. He wondered if this was all for this session; it seemed almost pointless if it was.
No matter the circumstances, he came here to fight, and fight he would. Not far from here he spotted a warm glow, and automatically he leaped from the tree and flapped noisily to the source of the turmoil. Below him a Vulpix, a Zorua, and a Honedge were warring, and he noticed that the latter two were fighting. Two against one? That was hardly fair. Still, he wasn't the best ally when he wasn't fighting alongside his sister; all of his moves affected a larger area.
Well, at the very least he could even the odds a bit. Swooping closer to the fight scene before him, he pumped his wings furiously and drew up a fierce wind, firing Hurricane in the general direction of the Zorua and Honedge.

The tricky fox smirked at the Vulpix, however a threat she may be, No Guard meant that his attack hit, she just didn't realize it yet. however, his eyes widened to the size of dinner plates at the sight of flaming bullets and a giant hurricane coming his way. so much power, coming at him all at once! too bad No Guard meant he coudn't avoid it either... a scream of pain was wrenched from his lips as the flames were caught up in the cyclone, and all the force impacted with him. the Vulpix was caught in the Hurricane as well, but the brunt was on him. when it was all over, he stood there, panting, looking into the sky at the fierce being above him. 'what a cheeky little bugger, interfering in our test... let's show him what we can do!' jumping into the air, the Sunny Day effect caught the gleam of metal. 'a cyborg...? perhaps then this should mess with him a bit!' a Night Slash dropped in the flying bat's direction, inevitably going to land, but how well...?

The Vulpix looked in the direction of the clumsy bat as it fired its attack. she should have been ale to avoid it, but strangely felt herself get sucked towards it uncontrollably, catching the edge of it before it ended. a pain at her side distracted her as the Zorua leapt at the pokemon she had seen only once before. if memory served, it was called a Noivern, a rather draconic batlike creature, but something appeared to be different with this one... that pain again. looking, she saw that apparently she had been indeed struck by the Night slash from before... that Zorua was certainly another different being from the average. she looked up. this Noivern interfered with a duel between two opponents. whatever the intentions, that was rude and asking for retaliation, especially when it was a threat to both participants... a Night slash was decending on it from the strange blade-wielding Fox, ao perhaps a second blade will do the trick to force it back... an Iron Tail ready, but of course it was more like a blade to her... leaping up, a roar escaped her throat! Tail Blade!!!
