What is a faction? Well, as you may already know, RPEPB is at a state of unrest right now. Factions are simply a way of saying which side you're on, uniting with others who share your viewpoint, and organizing a plan of action. It's a way to advance the plot with more power to the players, one could say.
A single character may join more than one faction, although some factions may only be open to characters that meet certain requirements: for example, a human only faction or one exclusive to clones. As characters will only know of other members within their faction unless someone from another faction broadcasts their alignment, this can result in some interesting double crossing. If you realize that a character is doing something like this yourself but your character doesn't realize it in roleplay, don't go throwing accusations around. That's called metagaming, and it's not very fun.
Granted, factions can coexist, and can even become allies with mutual members. When creating factions for both human and Pokémon characters, do keep in mind the language barrier and what you will use to transgress it.
In order to start or join a faction, the process is simple; simply post a new thread with the information provided or, to join, post in the thread asking for permission to join or just stating the fact that you're joining.
The following things are needed in the first post of a faction thread:
-Name
-Any requirements for joining
-Whether or not members must be approved before joining
-Members, along with positions of power
-Goals
-Rules
Also recommended would be a plan of action, but this can wait until later.
Of course, the founder and any other people with positions of power reserve the right to kick people out of their group at any time, or otherwise change it however they wish.
Might I add that if your faction gets twenty-five members, you get your own private board? Of course, you'll want to keep a sign-up thread outside of said board. Also, any and all factions get added to their own member group. As an admin of a group, you're welcome to deny either of these things. PM a staff member if you have something to say regarding either, preferably with a link to the thread.
