Darkness surrounded him, cloaking the shadowy wisps of fur that covered his body. A soft whistle could be heard coming from the beast with each breath taken in through his nose. He turned onto his side, moving a giant paw to cover his muzzle. It did nothing to silence the whistling, only muffling it slightly as the noise still found its way through him. His ears twitched every so often, listening intently to the world around him even though he seemed fast asleep. Despite the 'innocent' look of the sleeping splice, with his tail silently wagging after moments of rest though never making a sound as it passed through the steel flooring, he was not fooling anyone who had worked with him for the past couple of years. Those who have knew that ghosts do not sleep.
He would gladly put on the act, however. It made the interns feel a little more at ease when they came into his cold, dark cell to run the daily tests. They never stayed for long, much to his own pleasure. The beast let out a heavy sigh that whistled through his nose before groaning, rolling onto his back. His large paws hung limply against the lighter fur of his main that thinned on his chest, his hind legs keeping up, curling slightly at the paws. Stomach up, anyone who didn't know him would have easily assumed he was nothing more than a giant... dead puppy. That was definitely not the case, but he would let them believe what they must. If it helped them sleep at night, then he would at least be able to get a decent meal.
