ALTERATION
GENERAL EXPERIMENT (ABILITY CHANGE) - Arbok have long had a place in RPEPB, as while they might not be the most glorious of Pokemon, they are one of the most remarkably resilient. Capable of surviving long periods of time underwater, resistant to status effects, and able to recover from any injury that doesn't involve their skull- it's a set of traits that would go a long way toward Pokemon survivability in battle, and thus is of special interest to the scientists here. It is said that an Arbok's power comes from the pattern emblazoned on their hood, and while the regenerative affect is by far the most common, it is in fact only one of six. Kai is unique in his access to not one but four different patterns, and his ability to switch freely between them. It is not an easy process, requiring immense concentration, and is neither pleasant nor quick. It does, however, allow him to adapt to many circumstances depending on the threat he faces. Yet it makes his hood even more of a target, as damage to even a few scales can halt the entire process and make him lose any sort of extra power. Even so, he's learned to protect it, and the form change is an invaluable asset in battle.

PERSONALITY
Arbok are known for being vicious, territorial loners, prone to attacking anything that comes too close. And though it's true that Kai isn't exactly social, he doesn't go out of his way to be aggressive, either. In fact, he can even be considered shy. He's perfectly content to do his own thing, curled up under a rock somewhere- granted, he has a bit of a reputation for being grumpy and hiding from others when at all possible, which inspires caution from fellow Pokemon and downright fear from the human interns. Even so, though he can get defensive and slightly paranoid sometimes, he's never been prone to lashing out. All he wishes is a peaceful existence, left alone to his sunbathing, and those who get to know him will find a wise, easy-going companion. Life in the Research Department suits him nicely, with its slow, almost lazy pace, but he couldn't expect to get by doing nothing forever. Despite his seeming indifference to all others, he does find the RPEPB's goals admirable, and he doesn't mind the occasional arena battle in the least. For despite his mild persona, an Arbok is an Arbok- every once in a while he is in desperate need of an outlet for his inner violence, and he might as well assist people while he's at it.
APPEARANCE
In his 'default' form, Regenerative, he appears like the average Arbok, with a pattern most closely mirroring the natives of the Sinnoh region. He's a massive beast, slightly larger than his brethren, measuring just over thirteen feet from head to tail. His eyes are a bright yellow.
TRIVIA
-Despite his intimidating exterior, he's actually quite fond of children. The educational tours through the Research Department are some of his favorite days.
NOTES
-Immunity is slightly different than strict gameverse canon, but Agatha's Arbok in Pokemon Adventures had a similar ability.
