Name: Gryph
Male, Zorua, Biotech/Battle, Dark/Ghost*/Steel*, Experiment
Moveset: Hone Claws, Swords Dance, Agility, Double Team
Ability: Illusion: can change appearance to look like another being, human or Pokemon. this does not change his properties, though, and it fades as soon as a hit lands.
Alteration: Symbiosis. Eternally linked with Marasune. When Gryph uses Return while using Marasune, the blade is returned to its sheath, regaining his moveset in place of Marasune’s. However, while wielding Marasune, he gains Marasune’s Ghost-and-Steel type attributes. The stats of each character that is highest replaces the weaker one’s, and Gryph has access to Marasune’s more aggressive moveset. Is mostly dependent on Marasune for survival, but could survive a separation from him. However, he would feel extremely weak and possibly snap under the mental strain of such a process or event as losing him.
Appearance: A normal Zorua, with Marasune resting on his back and a scarf with a tag indicating his status as an experiment around his neck. Normally blue eyes appear green at times when his energy is low and grey when Marasune is speaking through him.
Personality: Being only about 4 years old, his mind is like that of a teenager/young adult. He likes to mess with people, like most Zorua, but has sometimes wisdom beyond his age, due to Marasune’s intermittent meddling with Gryph’s mind while taking control of him temporarily. Raised to battle, Gryph sometimes can be a bit of a hothead, but is still smart enough to keep his cool and not look like a petty musclehead. Besides, he is technically caring for two people, himself and Marasune, if he lost his cool it could cost both of them their lives. Thus, he remains smart while fighting; he hangs back and continuously boosts himself while analyzing the opponent(s) before him, and then brings forth Marasune and makes his decisive strike. Likewise often in conversations. He will hang back and be quiet for a bit, letting the ‘pieces’ fall together, then step forward and give the main point, showing what the ‘puzzle’ reveals
Name: Marasune
Male, Honedge, Biotech, Ghost/Steel/Dark*, Experiment
Moveset: Sacred Sword, Night Slash, Slash, Return
Ability: No Guard: no moves can possibly miss, so most fights become an all-out brawl for power
Alteration: Symbiosis. Linked eternally with Gryph. When Gryph uses swords dance, Marasune may allow Gryph to wield him. In return, their stats modify each other to the highest each has. Also, Marasune gains Gryph’s Dark type attributes. Marasune cannot use any of his attacks on his own, rather using them as Gryph’s own in place of Gryph’s moveset while being wielded. Is totally reliant on Gryph for survival, cannot live on his own.
Appearance: Appears to be a normal blade rather than a Honedge, except for two intelligent eye-like sapphires set where a Honedge’s ‘eyes’ would normally be. The ‘ribbon’ Honedge uses as a hand also is still in existence, instead being a greyish color at the tip instead of blue. The blade he carries within him is double edged, like a normal Honedge, and about a foot long.
Personality: is blind and mute, in a way. His sight and speech is directed through Gryph, so Marasune only sees what Gryph does, and if he wishes to speak he does so telepathically to Gryph, who will then immediately relay it to those around him if that is what Marasune wished. However, does not ‘speak’ aloud often, instead choosing to watch and act according to what he sees through Gryph. This often leads to him being Gryph’s battle analyst, with a giving in battle advice and occasionally altering Gryph’s movements, which has saved Gryph’s life many times. Does not speak to outside people often, and is very calculating.
Shared Backstory: One of the experiments of the biotech lab, the supposed question in the process of being answered is what would happen if a Pokémon were paired with another, bonded in life to it? The best bet was this; Marasune was exposed as an egg to the energy signature that allowed a ghost to go intangible, then placed partially within another egg, Gryph’s. The result caused a merger; the two, while technically not spliced, were joined at the hip, so to speak. Honedge was rendered blind and mute, and completely dependent on the host Zorua for survival and sustenance. It was shortly discovered that the Zorua and the Honedge had also developed a mental link, and so while the Zorua could survive a separation process from the Honedge, it would cause permanent mental scarring, and the Honedge wouldn't survive.
With that understanding established, they finally moved on to their next stage. They sent Gryph and Marasune to the Battle Facility to witness how the two would work together in a battle situation. The results were so positive that it became clear where they belonged, and they have been battling and sent on survival expeditions ever since. They reside in relative solitude most times wherever they can find it, so that others don’t think they are crazy since only one can ‘speak’ in the commonly accepted method. Now, though, both are beginning to feel the effects of what can only be loneliness…
... i understand my alteration may be a bit ridiculously large and will gladly remove some parts, like the type changes, if requested....
